With in-house laboratory capabilities, we can gather important information quickly when your pet is sick, injured, or needs answers the same day. We may also recommend sending out samples to a reference laboratory when a more detailed panel or specialty result is needed.

Common lab tests may include bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and monitoring tests for chronic conditions.

Digital radiographs help us evaluate bones, joints, the chest, the abdomen, and certain internal structures. X-rays may be recommended for limping, coughing, injury, suspected bladder stones, abdominal concerns, or changes seen during an exam.

Digital imaging gives us a clearer view of what may be happening internally so we can explain findings and plan next steps.

Ultrasound uses sound waves to evaluate soft tissue structures such as the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, intestines, and other abdominal organs. It can be helpful when lab work or X-rays suggest we need a closer look.

We may also use ultrasound to take an initial look at the chest or heart when appropriate. Pets with complex cardiac concerns may be referred to a veterinary cardiologist for more advanced evaluation.
